What Marana Customers Say

The guys came out to help with my mini split. I somehow got a crack in the condensate collection tray inside the unit. Unit still works fine, just leaks condensate water out the bottom into the house…so… They removed the cover of the unit and loosened one side to get full access to the condensate tray and the crack. Will use G-Flex 650 liquid epoxy “specifically” with a flex tube applicator and syringe to apply to the crack in restricted space. Then, after water test, put it back together. The guys were on time, polite, clean, patient and efficient with their time. I recommend. I attached a picture of the crack they discovered. Just the little extra time they took to get into the unit for more discovery paid off.

Marana HVAC Questions Answered

Find the right HVAC contractor in Marana. We connect you with licensed, insured professionals who deliver quality service—backed by real customer reviews.

How often should I change my air filter?

Every 1-3 months. Closer to 30 days if you have pets, allergies, or live in a dusty area. A dirty filter makes your system work harder and die sooner. Set a phone reminder.

How do I know if I should repair or replace my system?

General rule: If the repair costs more than half what a new system costs, replace it. Also replace if your system is 15+ years old and breaking down often. We'll give you both options with real numbers - no pressure.

How often should I schedule maintenance?

Twice a year. AC tune-up in spring (March-May). Furnace tune-up in fall (Sept-Nov). Catches problems early and keeps your warranty valid.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we have several financing packages and monthly payment plans available.

Should I get a two-stage AC for extreme desert heat?

Absolutely. Two-stage and variable-speed systems run longer at lower capacity, providing better comfort during 110°+ days. They also save 15-25% on cooling costs compared to single-stage units.

Is evaporative cooling a good alternative to AC in Arizona?

It depends. Evaporative (swamp) coolers work great when humidity is under 30%, using 75% less energy than AC. But during monsoon season (July-Sept), you'll want traditional AC as backup when humidity rises.

What SEER rating is best for desert climates?

Go for 18+ SEER if you can afford it. With 4-6 months of heavy AC usage, the energy savings add up fast. A 21 SEER system can cut cooling costs by 40% compared to a basic 14 SEER unit in Phoenix or Las Vegas.

How much does a new HVAC system cost in Marana?

The average cost of a new HVAC system in Marana ranges from $3,000 to $7,000, which includes both air conditioning and heating components of a split system. This pricing is typical for Arizona and depends on your home size and preferences. Several local HVAC companies like Platinum Air Heating & Cooling and Hamstra HVAC provide installation services in the Marana area.

Do I need a permit for HVAC installation in Marana?

Yes, HVAC installations typically require permits in Marana as they are considered mechanical work that affects your home's systems. The Town of Marana's Development Services department handles permitting and inspection requirements to ensure compliance with current building standards. You'll need to check with the Town of Marana at maranaAZ.gov for specific permit requirements for your project.

What HVAC rebates are available in Marana?

Marana residents can access the Efficiency Arizona rebate program, which offers up to $8,000 for ENERGY STAR certified electric heat pumps and other energy-efficient equipment. The HOMES program provides up to $14,000 total in rebates for qualifying households. Federal tax credits of 30% are also available for energy-efficient HVAC improvements through December 2025.

What is the average electric bill in Marana?

Residents in Marana spend approximately $200 per month on electricity at an average rate of $0.17 per kWh, which is about 12% lower than the national average. However, costs can vary significantly based on home size and HVAC efficiency. Over 25 years, homeowners typically pay around $79,900 for electricity, making energy-efficient HVAC systems a smart investment.
